STEPS to safety

At Delta Fire Systems, Inc. we truly believe our employees are our greatest assets. We strive to provide a safe, healthy work environment, and we want our people to go home after a day’s work better than when they came in. To do this, we make safety a major priority.

Safe work places are created through training, education, and employee involvement, and at Delta Fire we employ a full-time safety director to oversee every effort. In fact, we were one of the first sub-contractors in Salt Lake City to hire someone to just take on safety.

Delta Fire provides all OSHA and MSHA required training and educates all employees about job hazards and how to eliminate or work safely around those hazards. All of our field technicians and leadership are OSHA 30 certified. Our foremen are all CPR and First Aid trained so they can respond to any incident that may happen, and our project sites are safety audited by supervisors and our safety director.

Our safety record

We have an amazing safety record with an experience modification rate, or EMR, of .59, with the industry average being 1.0. This means our safety record and potential for future incidents is nearly 40 percent lower than our peers. This low rate allows us to secure lower insurance premiums than other companies, and we’re able to pass those savings onto our loyal customers.

In addition, in 2013 our Delta Fire technicians worked more than 220,000 hours with zero recordable incidents.

Safety awards

Our safety practices allow us to deliver quality services efficiently and safely, and our record proves it.

Delta Fire has received the Award of Merit from the Utah Safety Council each year since 2006. We have also received the Platinum Award for Safety Excellence in multiple years from the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America, and we were also the APi X-Cup Safety Award winner in 2011 and 2013.
